This spring I had the opportunity to create three bird sculptures for the Barnet Marine Park. The three pieces, a raven, an eagle and a cormorant are sitting on posts at the entrance of the park. They are life size and built in steel. Last winter I began working with Burnaby Parks and Recreation on their new eco sculpture project. I created three large salmon frames in steel. Each salmon is 8' in height and 20' in length and weighing about 4000 lbs. once planted. They spent the summer installed along Marine Drive. Working on such a large scale was truly liberating. A good portion of my work stems from being asked to create something for a specific space or to mark a special event. I enjoy the challenge of trying to help someone figure out what they want and then making it come to life.
